Some of Laguna’s free rewards used to sit out of reach until you’d spent a set amount. A taskmaster reward needed a $3 order first. Withdrawals had a high floor. If you were still finding your footing on Laguna, your first reward could feel a long way off. You might never actually get to see what it was worth.

So we’re moving to a simpler idea. The more you spend, the more of your rewards unlock. No big minimum standing between you and your first withdrawal. It grows alongside you from day one.

Where your cashback actually goes

Every dollar of cashback you earn on Laguna now falls into one of two pools.

Orders pool. Cashback from real spend: merchant purchases, vouchers, bundles, merch, and yield.

Rewards pool. Cashback from free perks: quest rewards, taskmaster rewards, promo codes (offering free tokens), and treasure shoals.

Referrals pool. What you earn from referring others: referral bonuses and referral earnings. This one unlocks differently, more on that below.

Orders pool cashback is yours right away (once the order completes). Withdraw it anytime, with a low $1-3 minimum depending on token to keep withdrawals operationally sensible.

Rewards pool cashback works differently. It unlocks gradually, tied to how much you spend.

Earn $1, unlock an extra $1

Every $1 you earn in orders pool cashback unlocks $1 sitting in your rewards pool (that you have won). Spend more, unlock more.

Say you’ve picked up $12 worth of rewards from quests, taskmaster, and promo codes. You spend and earn $3 in orders cashback. That unlocks $3 of your rewards, withdrawable right now, in whichever token you want. The remaining $9 opens up as you keep going.

The more you get immersed in Laguna, the more we get to keep building rewards worth unlocking for you.

Now, here’s how referrals unlock

Referral bonuses and referral earnings unlock through the person you referred, not through your own spend. If you’re great at bringing people to Laguna but don’t spend a ton yourself, you shouldn’t be locked out of what you’ve earned.

There are two parts to it.

Referral earnings are your ongoing share of what your referral spends, unlocking as they complete their orders.

Referral bonus is a flat $5 for bringing someone in, and it unlocks as they build up their own cashback: every $2 they earn unlocks $1 of your bonus.

Here’s the part that keeps it fair: each referral is its own lane. Each person you refer helps unlock their own rewards. The more they spend, the more you earn from referring them.

In the example above, A referred B, C and D.

B has been spending, so A’s bonus and earnings from referring B are fully unlocked. A earns the $5 referral bonus in full + $1.10 in referral share unlocked together with B’s spend.

C has earned 2$ for himself, unlocking 1$ of A’s bonus, and an extra 0.20$ in referral earnings once his order is completed.

D hasn’t spent yet, so those rewards stay locked for now. B or C’s activity doesn’t touch them.

Getting it out

Every token still carries a small withdrawal minimum, just enough to keep things operationally sensible. Most sit around $3, BTC's a bit higher due to the nature of the chain.

We’re also unlocking this retroactively. Existing locked reward balances get recalculated under the new rules the moment this goes live, so nobody starts from zero.
